Madriss is a simple budget tracker: log purchases, set monthly budgets, and record card payments straight from the Dynamic Island.
How do I log purchases from the Dynamic Island?
Go to Home → Set it up (or Settings → Dynamic Island) and follow the steps to install the Apple Pay shortcut. After a physical tap-to-pay purchase, a Live Activity appears so you can categorize it in one tap. Note: this works for in-store NFC payments, not in-app or web purchases.
Is my data backed up?
In guest mode, data lives only on your device. Sign in (Settings, or the banner on Home) to back up and sync your data.
How do I delete my data?
Settings → Erase local data (guest mode) or Settings → Delete account… to permanently remove your account and all data. See deleting your account for the full details.
The shortcut shows "Unknown Action" and nothing gets logged.
This happens when iOS's action index is out of date on your device — usually after an app update, or when your iPhone is a version behind. Fix it in this order (stop when it works):
The Dynamic Island prompt doesn't appear after some purchases.
Check these in order:
The Dynamic Island prompt didn't appear for a purchase.
iOS only fires the "Transaction" automation for physical tap-to-pay on this iPhone. The prompt won't appear for: in-app or online Apple Pay purchases, subscriptions, payments made with a card that isn't selected in your automation, or payments made from an Apple Watch. For those, log from the Add tab or say "Hey Siri, log a purchase in Madriss." If it never appears at all, check the automation is set to Run Immediately and that Live Activities are enabled in Settings → Madriss.
I get a "Conversion Error — couldn't convert from Transaction to Text" notification when I pay.
One of the shortcut's fields is bound to the whole "Shortcut Input" instead of one of its properties, and iOS can't convert a full transaction into text. The reliable fix: delete your "Log to Madriss" shortcut, re-import the official one from Madriss (Home → Set it up → Add the ready-made shortcut), then edit your automation and point it at the fresh copy. The official shortcut has Amount, Merchant, and Card correctly bound to the transaction's own properties.
Cashback isn't picking up which card I paid with.
Open the Shortcuts app → find "Log To Madriss" → tap the Log Card Purchase action's Card field and bind it to Shortcut Input → Card or Pass. (Shortcuts imported before this field existed don't have it bound.) Also make sure the card's name in Settings → Cards & cashback matches how it appears in Wallet — or just add it from the "From your Wallet" list, which uses the exact name.
